My commitment to safety and inclusivity

Trauma-informed practice
As a trauma-informed therapist, I am intimately familiar with the profound effects of trauma. Rather than relying on a specific technique, I integrate my understanding of trauma into every aspect of our work together. Our sessions will consider your unique trauma history, triggers, and nervous system needs, and acknowledge the potential impact of intergenerational trauma. My top priority is to work safely by creating a physically and emotionally safe space for therapy. This is essential for healing and processing.
Neurodivergence-affirming therapy
Whether you have received an official diagnosis for ADHD, autism or dyslexia or have self-diagnosed, I strive to create a therapeutic space in which your unique way of being can be expressed and accepted. Here are some examples of the neuro-affirming care I offer:
- A soothing sensory-supportive consulting room
- Clear descriptions of what to expect during the initial session
- A demystified therapeutic process – I take time to clarify what we are doing and why
- Therapy which is truly led by your goals, not by efforts to meet imposed expectations
- Visual summaries of the main points of our discussions by agreement
- Flexible, accessible options for therapy sessions: in person, phone or video call
The easier it is for you to be your authentic self without spending energy masking, the more comfortable and beneficial therapy will be.
An inclusive practice
I strive to create a welcoming and affirming space for individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions. I am committed to providing inclusive and culturally sensitive therapy.
