What are sessions like?

Here are some things that might happen in a session with me: talking, paying attention (where helpful) to sensations in the body, discussing your early life experience, reflecting on the therapeutic relationship, looking at photos, listening to music, discussing dreams, trying out new ways of communicating, engaging in a short guided meditation, laughing at something paradoxical, shedding a tear when moved.

Therapy can be enjoyable

Research and counselling practice repeatedly show that good therapy outcomes result from a good therapeutic relationship. The way we are together will shape your experience of therapy and how much you benefit from it. A gradual allowing of a sense of connection and mutual trust can lead to a profound shift in the way you relate with the world. You might discover that the therapeutic encounter can be an enjoyable and enlivening experience.
